The premiere of a new work, a rare solo performance by Hope Mohr and the Bay Area debut of New York-based choreographer Dušan Týnek will headline the fifth San Francisco home season of Hope Mohr Dance Thursday-Saturday, March 22-24, 2012. Hope Mohr Dance (HMD) is a bold and visionary company that both creates original work and presents other contemporary choreographers, giving Bay Area audiences the opportunity to see new dance in a regional and national context. Mohr thoughtfully pairs her own rigorously crafted and emotionally resonant choreography with work of other artists, thus creating a provocative aesthetic “call and response” not often seen elsewhere in the U.S. The performances feature dancing imbued with emotional intensity, raw physicality alongside formal lines in space, explorations of intimacy, poetic original text, and driving, evocative music.  www.hopemohr.org  www.dusantynek.org.
