Welcome to GADGET, an interactive multimedia performance
based on a series of interviews conducted with the people who built
the first atomic bomb.
The
Z Space is excited to premiere GADGET in its first full-scale
production this fall. Incorporating the dance talents of choreographer
Sara Shelton Mann, and the DJ talents of DJ Excess, Ralph Cutler,
and others, the environmental theater piece will also include music,
voice recording, and an enveloping multimedia design.
Creator David Szlasa conducted interviews with surviving original members of the Manhattan Project and gathered images detailing the history of the making of the atomic bomb and its first test detonation in 1945. Combine these interviews with archival audio and video, throw in some dance and performance, and you have one amazing evening of theater!
