Word for Word presents

Joan Didion's
"Slouching Towards Bethlehem"

A Word for Word Off the Page Reading

October 9 - 10  | 7 PM  in Z Space

A collaboration with Litquake, San Francisco Arts Commission and MUNI

Off the Page staged readings are the first step in developing a Word for Word production—taking a short story from the page to the stage. This installment is a 50th anniversary celebration of Joan Didion's seminal essay on the Summer of Love, "Slouching Towards Bethlehem."

Deborah Aschheim, Kate Haug and Sarah Hotchkiss, commissioned Artists for the San Francisco Arts Commission’s 2017 Art on Market Street Kiosk Poster Series, will present their work on the Summer of Love's history and cultural zeitgeist.

Come see the very first steps of our process, and, after the reading, let us know what you think!

Off the Page readings are free to the public, but we do suggest a $20 donation, and reservations are strongly encouraged. Click on the button to the left for both.
