We at Word for Word and Z Space love everything about food –cooking it, growing it, eating it – and even READING about it! What better, we thought, than to create a show around food - blending two of our favorite things: cuisine and literature - and provide a buffet of experiences that reflect the multi-flavored environment in which we live and work - the Bay Area.
We will provide delicious offerings on stage and off, a whole host of savory and sweet experiences during the run that will whet your appetite, slake your thirst, and expand your knowledge, including:
- Unique meals provided by local chefs
- Talks by professional gourmets and other "food lovers"
- Evocative art in our gallery using food as the theme
- First-ever Word for Word cookbook!
- We’ll be serving up stories of many kinds – on the page and on the plate.

Food Vendors
Word for Word will be joined by several different food vendors in our lobby throughout the run of the show.
Onigilly will join us every Saturday and on Wednesday, January 25th
Maite Catering: January 18,19 & 20, February 1, 2
Don Bugito: Feb 3 (Due to extenuating circumstances, this vendor may not be present. Food will, however, continue to be available.)
On Sunday January 22, three of La Cocina's Graduates will offer food.
