3/20/12:
Aptos Middle School 7th grade students perform at 6:30 on March 22nd. Their show ‘Poetry Live!’ is a collection of poems performed in the Word for Word style.

2/1/12:
We’re having a blast working in both English and Spanish with SFUSD’s Marshall Elementary 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.  Teaching Artists at this location include Gendell Hernandez (from the cast of Food Stories)

1/4/12:
The Youth Arts Program is excited to return to Mill Valley Middle School this month for our tenth year of collaborating with eighth grade Language Arts classes.

11/22/11:
The Bryant Elementary School workshop is drawing to a close, with performances of short stories “Click Clack Moo” “Cinderrumplestiltskin”  and “Boys and Girls” taking place on Thursday Dec 15th at 5:30 pm at Bryant’s Holiday Arts Show.  

 

10/20/11:
Word for Word Youth Arts is doing an extended workshop with fourth grade students at San Francisco’s Bryant Elementary!  This is our fourth year at Bryant, and the workshop will end with performances at Bryants Winter Arts Showcase in December.

 

9/13/11:
Youth Arts Program Administrator Valerie Weak's letter to the editor regarding the importance of arts education was published in the 9/10 San Francisco Chronicle. CLICK HERE to read.

 

9/2/11:
Jewish Community High School of the Bay performed their Word for Word style adaptation of Kafka’s Metamorphosis at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival August 19-23rd. MORE INFO. Check out the student company’s Scotland Blog HERE.
