Word for Word and Z Space present

The Strange Library

By Haruki Murakami
Directed by Lisa Hori-Garcia and Keiko Shimosato Carreiro

November 13 through December 8
in Z Below

Word for Word transforms Z Below into the macabre imaginings of the celebrated and enigmatic Japanese author Haruki Murakami. In his haunting and atmospheric short story, “The Strange Library,” a lonely boy, a mysterious girl, and a tormented sheep-man plot their escape from a secret, labyrinthian world.

This is the stuff of dreams—or nightmares!

UNA Productions and Z Space present

BEYOND

December 5 - 8
on Z Space’s Steindler Stage

Step into the cosmos with Beyond, an evening-length production that reassembles Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring into an intergalactic, Queer extravaganza. Featuring a vibrant ensemble of dancers and drag performers, Beyond wrecks the iconic score and reimagines it through lipsync, live music, and choreography. This bold reworking proposes a new and expansive possibility, inviting audiences to experience an otherworldly fantasy.

The SF Neo-Futurists and Z Space bring you

THE INFINITE WRENCH: BEST OF 2024

December 12 - 14
at Z Below

The year can’t end until The San Francisco Neo-Futurists present The Infinite Wrench: Best Of 2024! The critically-acclaimed ensemble spent the last 12 months writing, directing, and performing a non-stop collage of short plays—exciting, profound, hilarious, emotional, and plain bizarre. Now we’ve picked 30 of our favorites, stuffed them into 60 minutes, and will bring them to you for 4 performances in 3 nights only.

San Francisco Mime Troupe, in cooperation with Z Space, presents

A RED CAROL

December 14 - 29
on Z Space’s Steindler Stage

Charles Dickens wasn't trying to make people feel good, he was trying to show them a stark reality, scaring them into being more human. He wrote "A Christmas Carol" to shake up society, and with A Red Carol we are re-establishing his story as the revolutionary call-to-action Dickens intended. With music, joy, and plenty of harsh truths about his time and ours, A Red Carol is the demand for economic and social justice Dickens wanted then, and we need now.

Word for Word’s 2024 season is generously sponsored by Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria.
