at Z Below
The Ache is a new solo musical, written and performed by Maeve Seashore, with a live chamber ensemble. Our story features Ruth, aka “The Truth”, a giant singing, dancing high heel shoe, who has seen better days. Having lived a storied former life of travelling performance, Ruth is now exhausted, chronically ill, and trapped inside a closet where she performs every night for no one. Watch as she sings her way through burnout, isolation, transmisogyny, chronic pain, illness and coping behaviors in hopes of getting unstuck. The Ache is directed by Rotimi Agbabiaka with musical direction by Ami Nashimoto. It runs from March 6th through 14th at Z Below in San Francisco.
KN-95 masks are required and will be provided.
The performance is for people ages 18+.
We will be filming the performance, to be screened online after the run is over, for a limited time, with closed captioning.
RSVP here to receive information about how to view the video online at a later date.
