"Such is the thrilling, destabilizing magic of the production that you might genuinely doubt, for an instant or two, the Earth’s position both beneath your feet and within the cosmos."

In Event of Moon Disaster

A World Premiere

January 3 - 28, 2018 | Z Below

“Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace...”

Thus begins the speech that Nixon would have given if the Apollo XI astronauts had not returned to the earth. And it’s the launchpad for In Event of Moon Disaster, Mugwumpin’s new immersive theater experience.

We're asking some questions...

How do we plan for a future that is more tenuous and uncertain than ever?

What lies beneath our desire to leave Earth?

Can we make a little magic with the help of the Moon?

When you look at the moon, what do you see?

With their signature blend of physical rigor and playful curiosity, Mugwumpin takes you on a retro-futuristic expedition into space, our hunger for what lies beyond, and contingency plans, big and small.
