Noor (meaning light), The Path of Light is a collaboration with Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, a leading tabla master of our time and the Lian Ensemble, the virtuosic Iranian musical group featuring Houman Pourmehdi, Pirayeh Pourafar, Alireza Shahmohammadi and Indian classical artists Nilan Chaudhuri and Raaginder Momi Singh. Noor will explore modern connections between two art forms with ancient ties. The performance will open with the Chitresh Das Youth Company, featuring choreography by Charlotte Moraga.
Prior to the Sunday, 9/29 performance, there will be a pre-performance talk with Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, Pirayeh Pourafar & Houman Pourmehdi, moderated by Lily Kharazzi. Talk is at 1:15 PM.
